In Real Life Are You More Accurate With Guns When Crouched?

In most video games you are more accurate with guns when you're Crouched, but it seems to me that I would rather stand up straight when firing a gun even if it's at long distance.

I'm sure it's true you're more accurate with guns when you're prone, but I don't know about crouched.

I suppose I could wait for the thread to go off topic before I start shitposting. But that would be 'proper decorum.' F*** decorum. Who's the 17th century fop that even came up with that?

I want to talk about throwing stuff at raccoons. Not to maim or hurt but to get just close enough that they break into a 'wtf, i'm out' run.

I'm really surprised that the past several times, I managed to get close enough with a 6foot long wood stake that they felt the spray of dirt but didn't touch a hair on their furry butts.

Perhaps you could consider an alternate method of demoralizing them? See, that's where decorum comes in, once you teach the raccoons what decorum is, they can be properly aghast when you fuck it*, and they'll sod off with a little simple passive aggression instead of hurling blunt objects like a cave person.

*The decorum, not the racoon, this is a very important point to remember

Apparently we could learn a lot from the raccoons! ;)

I suppose. But there's a certain feeling of power seeing a normally jaded, perpetually non-plussed racoon running for it's life. I'm not sure I can walk away from that. I wonder if are any 12 stepping pro-raccoon groups. God I hope not.

Also, if you don't look and act serious, all you get from them is a half-hearted waddle that is the raccoon equivalent of flipping you the bird. They don't waddle when I come out. No sir. I call that respect - which is all I care about since I will never, ever have raccoon friends.

Now before you start calling me a species racist, the bottom line is that I just don't trust them. All they care about is food. Not you and definitely not THEIR "friends." Even their grubby, but adorable little cubs aren't guaranteed jack. They're basically the animal kingdom's junkies.

Well, you could always do the next best thing, and give them some cotton candy and a handy food-washing trough.

Story time:
Was in the attic of my unattached garage, checking for something unrelated when I suddenly felt like I was being watched. Moved my phone light around and saw what was somewhere around 15 sets of eyes peering at me from the other side of the attic. I kind of felt like an invader, and while wearing sandals on 2x4 joists, not very confident in my ability to defend myself from ~250lb of mammal, so I fucked right off.

Figured out where they were getting in and chicken wired it off, they got the message after a day or two.

I'm not sure, but when I see guys strafe around corners in the office, I call security. You know those are the psychos to watch out for.

In all of the Mass-Effect games (mainly 2 & 3) you gain significant accuracy by crouching behind cover and only emerging to shoot for example.

Sincere apologies for posting on-topic in a Gizmo-thread! ;)

Anyone tried rocket-jumping IRL?

Who's up for doing a "Gofundme" to pay the OP to give it a try? :p

Also, am surprised "bunny-hopping" is not yet part of standard infantry tactics. I mean, it's surely now proven that it throws-off the opponent's aim in a firefight? Would have thought the US military would have issued pogo-sticks as standard equipment by now.
