I'm on my way home from San Francisco and decided to swing by Portland, OR on my way. I was here last year, so I experienced Washington Park, the Max, Voodoo donuts, passed a strip club, a few parks, and ate at a few restaurants. Is there anything else I'm missing? Can anyone recommend a good restaurant downtown (sushi?) or something else I should go see?

Thanks!

have you ever been on board a submarine?

http://www.omsi.edu/index.php/submarine

OMSI is home to the U.S. Navy's last non-nuclear, fast-attack submarine, the USS Blueback (SS-581). The Blueback was the first battle-ready class of submarines to use the teardrop hull. It was in official operation throughout the Pacific Ocean for 31 years. The USS Blueback served in the entertainment industry, too! It appeared in the hit movie The Hunt for Red October and an episode of Hawaii Five-O and has been used as a location for a Discovery Channel documentary and various commercials.

Tours
Peer through a periscope. Touch a torpedo. Climb in a bunk in the crew's quarters. During a 45-minute guided tour aboard the Blueback, you'll learn how a submarine works and get a glimpse into how a crew of 85 lived and worked within the Blueback's hull for months at a time. Tours are for ages 3 and above.

Tickets ($5.75) are available at the OMSI Ticket Desk and online.

Tours leave regularly from 9:50 a.m.?5:10 p.m. (Tour duration is approximately 45 minutes.)

The waterfront is nice but it's getting too cold to stand around outside. Portland City Grill has a nice sushi selection and a bitchin' view (it's on the 30th floor of the Bank Tower at 5th and Burnside); pricey though. Swing by Powell's if you've ever enjoyed reading; it's an absolutely fantastic book store (10th and Burnside downtown).

I haven't been to Todai, but Masu was pretty good the last time I was in Portland.

I especially liked their tsukemono appetizer.

Ground Kontrol for old school coin-op gaming, Portland's Traditional Chinese Garden in old town, Thai Peacock on SW 9th downtown for some good Thai, check out The Mercury for the latest shows and other types of happenings.

Also if you haven't been to Powells books downtown on 10th (I think?) that is a must-go. Powells is awesome.

The only thing I could afford to do when I lived in Portland was pay the cover charge at dirty strip clubs. I couldnt even afford a dance from a crack-whore.

Want to go visit my childhood house and take pictures so I can see what it looks like now?

Grab a steak, a cold beer, and check out the titties at The Acropolis.

Head over to a strip club called "Devils Point" - sometimes the Suicide Girls will dance there. Beer is cheap and no cover.

Head up to Multnomah Falls for a beautiful hike and great views.

Stop by Montage for some great Mac & Cheese.

Does Arctic Circle still have Blackberry milk-shakes?

Visit the microbreweries and drink lots o beer.

Can you email me an address (my email is in my profile).

That google map just links to the street. I can potentially drive by it.

Portland City Grill is always great. Don't miss out on pepper salted squid at Thien Hong on Sandy Blvd.

Toldja so.

What club did you end up at? Most of the places down in that area are the trendy, fratboy, jock asshole stereotype sorts of clubs, which is bizarre because it's the antithesis of Portland culture.
