Dude, life is not a movie. Bullets don't make you stop immediately. Lots of soldiers have been shot with AK-47 bullets and they still survive. You're talking about shooting someone with your little dinky hand gun that is maybe 1/10th as powerful as an AK if you round up several time. Unless you blow a full clip into his chest, he's not going to stop immediately.

the ak's likely arent shooting JHP's, and have way more power so they blow through, taking most of their engergy with them.

my 147 JHP is NOT going to do the same. If I put 17 rounds into someones chest at that range, something is wrong. seriousloy wrong. like zombie or superhero wrong.

shit like this is why people are so scared of guns.

you have no idea but spout off nonesense like its fact

um what? pretty sure I have NEVER seen that disclosed on a house o_O
http://www.ehow.com/how_4793239_out-someone-died-house.html
"Ask the home's current owners via your real estate agent (if someone has died in the house). While most states don't require the disclosure of a non-violent death, the owners are legally obligated to disclose all known material facts relating to a property. This means that if there was a death in the home, at any time, and the current owners are aware of this, then they must disclose this if you inquire."

I would certainly rather shoot to kill an intruder that may hav ea weapon rather than piss him off.
Well then I hope you have a real gun to defend your house and not some piece of shit 9mm. At the very minimum, you'll need .45 hollow points.

heh, more like 20. if you are unluck to 2 closer deputys on yoru beat are already busy and you got someone coming from 20 miles away.
That and why the fuck would I hurry to finish my coffee when you said on the phone that you already shot him? I'll get there when I get there.

Did you seriously just quote ehow.com as a credible source?

Also, 9mm is fine as a self defense round. Not as good as .45ACP, but much better than rabbit mace.

if you can't kill someone with a 9mm then you seriously need to go to the range more...

I've killed Taliban insurgents who were fucked up on heroin, they got just as dead as the ones who didn't need drugs to grow balls.

I destroy your CNS and you're going to stop, no matter who you are.

Yep. Multiple defense rounds center mass and there will be enough damage to drop them immediately. That's the whole point, stop the threat immediately. The shock wave alone from the round destroys everything around it.

In California, the law requires the seller to disclose information on deaths in the house within the previous three years.
A child died in our house before we bought it...I wish to hell he'd leave...sometimes, we hear little bumps and noises that we just attribute to "Bobby."

http://homebuying.about.com/od/buyingahome/qt/082107_diehouse.htm

"Not all states require identical seller disclosures. For example, in Colorado, neither the agent nor his sellers are required to disclose if a person died in the house. But in California, if a death occurred within the past 3 years, it's considered a material fact and must be disclosed."

(Technically, Civil Code §1710.2 states that death on a property need not be disclosed if it occurred more than 3 years prior to a sale. [The statute does NOT say that a death within 3 years must be disclosed.]

If a death occurs on a property within 3 years, and the circumstances of that death are material (it was a gruesome or offensive death, or affected the reputation of the property), it must be disclosed.
AIDS deaths are not required to be disclosed regardless of how much time has passed.)

they must disclose if you inquire != to you must disclose. you have to say if it has lead paint, argon ETC. period. thats a must disclose, way different than the person has to ask. you dont see on listing" seller died of heart attack in kitchen'

If you're *really* worried about stopping someone in a defensive situation, don't use a handgun. Use a 12 gauge. Load it with slugs.

Whatever you hit will immediately cease and desist.

I believe everybody should have equal firepower in order to to leverage the average citizen up to a point where they are no longer easily oppressed by people who wish to take advantage of them.

Ive seen people go down instantly from 2-3 hits from a 9mm to the torso. It takes about 3 seconds after they are on the ground before they realize what's just happen and they start screaming and pleading and are completely powerless to get up and control their bodies. Instant drop in blood pressure and shock are very crippling.

Whether they survive after the fact from prompt medical attention is beside the point. Surviving in the long term and going down immediately are two completely unrelated events.
