That's known throughout the land.
Eleven warriors brave and bold,
Whose fame will ever stand.
And when the ball goes over,
Our cheers will reach the sky.
Ohio Field will hear again,
The BUCKEYE BATTLE CRY.

Drive, drive on down the field,
Men of the Scarlet and Grey.
Don't let them through that line,
We have to win this game today.
COME ON OHIO
Smash through to victory,
We cheer you as you go.
Our honor defend,
We will fight to the end,
For Oh-Hi-Oh.

Ohio State fans and cheerleaders: Here's the situation. You are not Ohio University. You are The Ohio State University, which begs the question of why all but one of your cheers is missing the word, "State." Now unless you are only up to the P's in the alphabet, I'm sure there is someone at your school creative enough to come up with a cheer that incorporates it.

Yeah, thank God we're not Ohio U, then we'd have a really sucky football team. :p And OSU's bigger, so we win. Although, I suppose that if OSU's football team was as bad as OU's team, then we'd probably try to cover that up by whining about semantics too. :p

I actually remember that whole dispute from a couple years ago. I'm glad that you guys were flexible enough to let the Bucks keep using Script Ohio.

You guys definitely have a great Halloween tradition though. :D

Why did you do that?

It paid almost 2 months worth of rent. Its okay, I watched it on tv, and was just as excited.

But you missed the feeling that was present in the stadium when the officials arm extended towards the Michigan end zone when it was ruled we recovered the fumble. The roar in the stadium was just... well, I cant describe it. That feeling though is what the OSU-Michigan rivalry is all about.

Don't worry, I have been to plenty of Michigan-Ohio State games, I know what the rivalry is about :D:)

Goat, that is extremely poor judgement in your post. Are you one of the College idiots that storm the fields, pull down posts, burn cars, tear up the turf and on and on???

College Football Games Spark Riots

By CASEY LAUGHMAN, Associated Press Writer

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Police fired tear gas and wooden pellets to break up rioting by college football fans who set fire to cars, threw bottles and burned furniture in the streets early Sunday in celebration of Ohio State University's victory over rival Michigan.

In the minutes after the Buckeyes' 14-9 victory, which sealed a 13-0 season for the team and a trip to the Fiesta Bowl, fans swarmed the field and threw chunks of turf at state troopers who used pepper spray to try to prevent them from pulling down the goal posts.

At least a dozen fires were later set near the Columbus campus. Police said 45 people were arrested for disorderly conduct and alcohol violations.

Football celebrations got out of hand in South Carolina, California, North Carolina and Washington, as well.

At Washington State University, fans pelted visiting players from the winning University of Washington team with bottles, plastic souvenirs and other debris.

"I feared for my life," Washington athletic director Barbara Hedges said following the dramatic 29-26 triple-overtime win, which was decided by a referee's call that went against Washington State. None of the players was hurt.

_ In Clemson, S.C., a 67-year-old sheriff's officer and a female fan were injured when fans rushed the field and tore down a goal post following the Clemson Tigers' 27-20 win over South Carolina. Fans piled on top of Officer James Booth, was hospitalized in stable condition. Details on the woman's condition weren't immediately available, but officials said her injuries were not life-threatening.

_ In Raleigh, N.C., one person's leg was broken and two people suffered knee injuries on the field when fans tore down goal posts following North Carolina State's 17-7 victory over No. 14 Florida State.

_ In Berkeley, Calif., hundreds of University of California fans overwhelmed security guards and tore down the goal posts following the Golden Bears' 30-7 over rival Stanford. Some of the fans were taken away in handcuffs.

Ohio State fans at first high-fived the players after the Buckeye victory, but as more fans rushed the field, they began throwing clumps of sod at the officers and taking chunks of the turf some said they planned to sell on the Internet.

The crowds grew more rowdy after nightfall.

Police spokeswoman Sherry Mercurio said drivers reported their cars were pelted with debris, and a number of cars were set on fire. Officers used wooden pellets known as "knee-knockers" to disperse one crowd of several hundred people and arrested 45 people, she said.

"Your team has gone 13-0 and you should be darn proud of that fact," Mercurio said. "Instead, you take attention away from that and bring the spotlight on the fact that you can't control yourself if your team wins."

Really? Lets see you, using no machinery, take out a goal post with a 15' by 6' (not entirely sure about the 6' wide, but I know they are set 15' into the ground) concrete footer. Tell me oh wise one how you would accomplish that?

Asshat.

As usual, I expect that the majority of the arrests of people after the game will be non-students, as has been the case since I started attending OSU. I know for a fact that 3 of them aren't, as I bailed them. 3 women, they go to Toledo. They got arrested for open container! Oh no, the crime of the century!

``I'd like to say most of these people are not our students, but unfortunately they are our students,'' said Bill Hall, university vice president for student affairs.

guess that shoots down your wholly uninformed opinion. who's the asshat?

Let's see.... you made assumptions about our stadium, created your own facts, called OSU students and maybe all 106,000 people in the stadium idiots, proudly posted your ignorant thoughts, and then were corrected by an Ohio State student, which I am sure you consider the lowest people on the earth with your n your mind is the lowest of the low.

Who is still the asshat? If you can't figure that out, PM me and I'll let you know

Having spent 7 hours at the jail, and having talked to some of the F*CKING ARRESTING OFFICERS, I think I have better info on this situation than you do. But hey, if you live in Columbus, you just might see me on the 11 o'clock news on channel 10, and if you're lucky, you'll even see me talking to two of the officers that responded to the riots, about the causes and possible solutions to the riots. The guy taping it said it was too long to run in its entirety, but that a clip from it might be shown (@25% chance), and there is a %50 chance that I'll be on at all for a different segment that they taped (which was in actuality just me and my friend laughing at how screwed some of the people on the commitment sheet are).

According to the officer in charge processing for the majority of the arrest time (he missed all of an hour), by far most of the people arrested for arson, unauthorized burning, resisting arrest, assault on a police officer, and felony assault are not, I repeat not (I even typed that last "not" slowly to help you with your comprehension) OSU students. According to the same officer, many of those who were charged with littering, underage consumption, and open container are OSU students. So, lets see... which charges count? I mean, really count? Assaulting a police officer, or littering? Lets just shoot those littering bastages! No trial, the officers just see them and shoot'em!

All that said, however, when I talked to the officers at the jail, they had not released the statistics on the number of OSU students arrested. Sherry Mercurio didnt even want to be paged by the reporters until at least noon. When did Bill Hall say that quote?
