In need of new monitor, 15" LCD or 19"CRT...?

I am currently using an old Gateway EV900 19" monitor, so far it has been great. I am in need of a new monitor, however, and I am stumped as to what I should get. I am thinking a 15" LCD could be nice. It would take up very little desk space and picture quality would be superb. However, is the extra money (about $100+) and smaller screen size worth it for a new LCD over a new 19" CRT flat monitor? I would use the monitor for general use and gaming is important, and I am thinking the 15" LCD might be a bit small compared to the 19" CRT (18" viewable...)...

Any suggestions would be appreciated :)

If you play games a lot, the CRT will be better since it doesn't exhibit ghosting effects that you get with LCD screens. Also, 15" LCDs are limited to 1024x768 resolution, which is pretty low for most anything while 19" CRTS can do 1600x1200.

I was leaning more towards the CRT, I just wanted to make sure the LCD wouldn't offer me any huge advantage. Paying more for a monitor that supports lower resolution/refresh rate does make much sense to me, but I wanted to be sure. Just trying to get the performance I desire without raping my wallet...
