Can you guys throw me some suggestions? I guess I am alt-rock whore... I like Tool, A Perfect Circle, NIN, Soundgarden, and etc... well you get the point...

first thing you want to do is get away from that sh1t. it gets so boring
You ever call Tool sh1t again, and I'll cut you. ;)

ORIGINAL POSTER!!!

Have I got the band for you. You can even listen to them for free!!! Well, parts of their music, anyway.

They're called The Sound and the Fury, and while their lead singer's voice sounds like Maynard form Tool and APC, they have a sound all their own. You can listen to them at CDBaby.com, and buy their CD there for $8.

If you even remotely like that CD (titled "Wisdom"), you'll like their other CD as well. It's called "Another Stage," and it's only $10. You can buy it at the band's website. You can also listen to their first album, "Alter Ego", but I wasn't that impressed with it.

Just so that I'm clear, I have nothing to do with this band, but I think they're incredible. Most people that listen to their CD immediately like it, and it's not the kind of music you get sick of quickly, either.

Another band I'd recommend is "10 Years." You can listen to 4 of their songs at their website, and I can guarantee you'll like them.

I will also second "Mad at Gravity"'s album, but the only problem there is that they only have one album and won't be making any more untilthey find another lead singer. And even if they do, I doubt he'll be as good as their old lead singer. They have two songs you can hear at the end of the movie "Reign of Fire" (during the credits) - "Burn" and "Walk Away" - and you can listen to "Walk Away" and see the video at their website.

One suggestion: Celldweller

See http://www.celldweller.com

holy crap, my friend's band opened for Celldweller at their CD release party  I thought it was just some random unknown band
Celldweller's one of my favorite "Loud Music to Work Out To" bands.
Sorry guys, that sounded too much like techno for my taste. The thing is, I like some techno, but rock bands that do techno just sound like eurotrash shite to me.

Yea well i'd be pretty pissed to if someone threw a water bottle at me!!! But MESHUGGAH RULE!!!!!!! They are a bunch of funny guys - you NEED to see their video to NEW MILLENIUM CYANIDE CHRIST - funny stuff.

Getting back to the water bottle throwing

>>> my bro was at a concert where Marilyn Manson was playing and someone threw a water bottle at him that caught him sqaure on the shoulder. He stopped singing, started swearing and asked who threw the bottle at him. He then made the guy come up on stage and forced him to bend over on his knees whilst he gyrated up and down him for an entire song, before telling him to "get the fuvk off my stage".

Bro said that at first it was funny, then scary as Manson seemed proper annoyed, and then just damn funny as this guy was being embarrassed on stage.

ANYWAYS - dont throw bottles at performers on stage!!! ITS NOT NICE! :p

Pookie69, thanks for pointing me to http://www.audioscrobbler.com , I just joined up and that is a great resource!

Yea its a cool site although as of late theyve been having server problems. I listened to so many songs yesterday that were cached as the server was down, but then failed to be sent across and counted :( That Maiden number ought to be in the 400s by now!!! :|

Make sure to tag your tunes correctly though. Cant really adjust them afterwards which is just messed up. My initial songs were all tagged silly and now i have to stick with the shame until they get knocked off the listings.

hmmm ... i will try to mention non-death-metal bands here ...

Check out Kyuss, Monster Magnet, and Alabama Thunder Pussy

If you like them, I can name 50+ other bands that are somewhat similar

EDIT> I'm pretty sure Queens of the Stone Age has some former Kyuss members in it ... it's a great band too
