I need an HDMI cable and have a question or two.

One, it's for gaming so is there anything in particular you would recommend in terms of specs?

Second, is there any length of cable that hinders performance, ie: does a 6ft cable operate noticeably faster than a 15ft or a 25ft?

Thanks!

Since it is a digital signal, shielding is not very important. Signals can still get corrupted, but it will likely be minor and is only likely if your cable is running through an area with a lot of EM interference (places near electric motors or high current wires are the worst culprits). The longer the cable is, the more likely the signal will be corrupted by noise, but again since it is digital the noise would need to affect the signal enough to pass the signal threshold before the output would change. Just avoid getting an overly long cable and you should be fine.
