In need of blowhole? any suggestions?

Hello! I realized that there is an intense amount of heat in between the PSU and the 5.25 bays (I suspect this is why there is such a big difference when the side is on and off). I think a blowhole would help solve this problem very easily but I've never really modded a case before. Any suggestions? I was thinking that instead cutting the top, I would simply cut the the opposite side (the back side of the motherboard) of the case and cut a hole on the top and have a outtake fan. Would that be easier or is it just as hard as cutting the top? Also, what do people think about putting a 120mm fan on the top 3 5.25" bays? =P.

EDIT: If I were to make a blowhole, I also want to make a duct from one of the outtake fans in the back to the heatsink.... any thoughts? and also, does anyone know any good sites or can give good advice when cutting up the case?

Just use a jig saw and cut a 120mm hole in the side cover in-line with the AGP/CPU area. Buy a quiet fan and your problems should be fixed.
A quiet 120mm fan blowing fresh air in on your biggest heat producers is a cheap and easy way to go.

BTW. Use masking tape to cover the area you're going to cut on the side panel. That will help avoid scratching it with the saw. Take your time, use a high quality fine tooth saw blade (more teeth per inch = finer), and have fun.

You can buy a loud fan and cut the voltage down to 7v to get a quiet fan and still good air flow. 😉

I'm assumming that I'm going to need a drill bit to make the first incision... correct?

either do that or use a dremel to make a square hole. u know. mostly square with slightly rounded corners(diagonal really) makes it easy to dremel.

thats alright, most modders start from ground zero., there are tons of blowhole or case modding guides out there. when i cut holes in my case i googled atleast 10.
