In Need of BF BC2 Friends

Hey! So I got COD MW2 when it came out, kinda disappointed... it's too easy to get good too fast. Then when BFBC2 came out I waited till it dropped in price and got it - as destructible environments and more "gadgets" really interested me, ... however, I don't have many friends who play it - and it doesn't help that you have to disable the steam overlay to play the game or you time out - so adding friends via steam is pointless. Anyways I'm looking for some people (west coast/central) to play with as I do enjoy the game, but don't have anyone to play it with (and because my l4d2 won't get past the opening credits w/o crashing)

Thanks for your time all!

I'm in need of the Bad Company 2 friends list to actually function. I have plenty of friends on it, but it's pointless because it never works correctly. So you're constantly hunting through the server list to finally find the server your buddy is on..then its full. Friends lists should have the function of being able to group up and 'platoon' into a game.

Why do you have to disable the steam overlay? It works fine with it for me.

Never had a problem with the Steam friends feature but go ahead and add me if you'd like: username "clamum" (perhaps you'll need to use my Steam name "clamum@hush.com"). I'd like others to play with myself.

Sorry if that last sentence sounds... not quite right.

i believe steam overlay has not been whitelisted by evenbalance for punkbuster.

i've seen chatter between steam rep and evenbalance rep and must say the guys at evenbalance are a bunch of punks. steam has repeatedly asked them to whitelist steam overlay and they won't and seem to be deliberately being very difficult.

Do you have ventrilo by chance?

Although not as much anymore, I still play BF BC2 with friends, usually about only 10 hrs per week. We usually play late at night after work and mostly on weekends, sometimes past 12am PST since we play with Hawaiians as well. If that works for you, feel free to add Flowerbridge in-game or on steam if you're up for playing late at night. Even if you don't use the steam overlay, at least you can see if I'm playing. :)

Slighty off topic, but we also have a friend that JUST got BC2 last week, and he hasn't played an FPS since 2000. He goes like 0-17, 1-14, 2-19, and after an entire round, his ping is higher than his score where as the rest of us are on the top of the charts.

Keep your friends list at 12 or under (as many as fits on one screen). Trim the fat. If you scroll the list, you won't be able to use the "join on" function. If you don't, it works fine.

It will try to put you in a squad with your friend IF he is not in full squad already, and IF doing so won't unbalance further an already unbalanced game.

If your friend is not in a squad, and teams are balanced, it will create a squad for you and put you and your buddy in it, and lock it. But as you can see, the stars must be aligned...

As someone else said, sometimes, the BFBC2 friends list server is down. People will be online, but won't show as playing, so it's good to have people on your friends list.

I've played with as many as 8-10 people at a time when our stars are alligned. We join a server, and sometimes, ppl who are slow sit in queue. As it permits, we just join the same team over time. It's not a big deal since people come and go pretty often.

I have not had the BF2BC friends list work since I've had the game for the past few months. I have tried countless times since I got the game and it never works. Friends and I have sent various requests but NONE ever go through. I guess it's not meant to be.

I do have vent. And I occasionally play late at night, when nothing is going on/the chick is busy. I'll add you to my steam friends and to my bc2 friends, the name for bc2 is provenone

lol, maybe steam needs to use punkbuster on them.

Hey there!

I recently bought Bad Company 2 (due to the EA sale) for $18.00... I would gladly play a game (or two) with you.

I haven't played much this week but when I do play I play for hours a time.

From my understanding, to get the friend's list to work properly both users have to be online when the request is sent so maybe we can set up a time to get online and get the invite sent.

:)

The friends list/server/whatever been down very, very, very often, which is why I suggested that the OP add steam accounts anyway.

It does work though, just not always. When it doesn't work, friends will appear offline and what not.
