In need of a toaster oven, recommendations?

So my toaster oven decided to catch fire and die horribly on me, so I'm now in need of a new toaster oven.

I have been reading reviews and the Panasonic G100P really caught my eye. It's an infared toaster and cooks really fast. Sadly it has been discontinued.

So now I'm looking for a recommendation on a $100 or so toaster oven. It needs to cook fast, not catch on fire, and cook fairly evenly. I'd like it to be fairly big too, not full size pizza big, but big enough that I can bake some things.

I did notice that Black and Decker has an infrared toaster oven, but there's been a recall on one model in the line, and the user reviews are mostly negative on it (catching on fire, not cooking things etc).

I have that same oven along with a standard issue Oster. The panasonic is way faster and cooks much better than my other oven. The only downside is the smaller size, it's the only reason why I have the Oster.

Recently (last weekend), America's Test Kitchen did a full test of toaster ovens. Check their website for the review details. Do get a convection model.

toaster ovens are for toastin.

u don't have a real oven? generally toaster ovens are poor at baking...no insulation..waste energy.

For small things that require less baking time, they're better to use.

I toast sandwiches, some tv dinners, cookies, reheating pizza etc...

In the time it takes my full oven to heat up, I can be done cooking with the toaster.

Incorrect. I bake small batches of cookies in my Panasonic Toaster oven and the results are phenomenal. For small jobs like one baked potato, small pizzas (Stouffer's french bread:thumbsup🙂, you actually use less energy; especially considering the Panasonic oven is 30% faster than anything else. Larger ovens use 6000+ watts of electricity and require a long period to pre-heat, the Panasonic uses 1300 watts and takes less than a minute to heat up.

Don't get a Delonghi. We have one and it's a POS. Takes forever to heat up. Burns one side of toast while the other side is barely toasted. Takes pushing 4 buttons to do anything. And, makes annoying beeps for every button you push.

The one thing I let the wife pick out without doing my normal anal retentive investigation, I figure what couldn't they have figured out by now. I mean people have been making toaster overs forever, what could go wrong. I want to throw that thing in the pond.

Thanks for the link squisher.

Can't decide to if the Cuisinart is worth the money over the T-Fal.

The Sanyo supposedly cooks unevenly.

The Cadco OV-350 is a 1/2 sheet oven for larger baking, broiling, and toasting needs like Pizza and cakes. You can find these new or barely used on ebay for a few hundred dollars.

P.S. I have also seen Convection/Microwave hybrid ovens that combine the speed of a microwave with the toast/browning ability of a convection oven.

For a killer microwave, nothing beats Panasonic's 3200 watt <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/shop/Home-Appliances/Microwave-Ovens/Commercial-Microwaves/model.NE-3280_11002_7000000000000005702">quad magnetron beast!
