In need of a new wireless router

So my aging Belkin G router is really flaking out on me so I am looking for a replacement. I would really love the speed of N but can't seem to find any router that isn't getting very mixed reviews. I would love some advice on a good option, preferrably with a gigabit switch, and whether there is much compatibility with using different manufacturers wireless adapters to connect. Forgive me if this was covered in another post somewhere.
