In need of a loan

I'm relocating to a new city for a job. I can't get a forward on my pay so I will need to take out a loan for expenses. I am thinking I will need about 5k for moving costs and to get into a new place. Where is a good place to look for a loan? What are some things I will need to know. Thanks.
