Ok everyone, here's the deal... I have a Voodoo2 Blaster card right now and I just bought another 3dfx Voodoo2 card for $20 from a friend (good deal eh?). Originally I wanted to stack the cards... but found out that no can do with cards from different manufacturers (3dfx & Creative). Anyway I want to sell them both and replace them with a single card (mainly for gaming purposes). The catch (and this really sucks but...) is that it has to be PCI. I'm willing to spend $100-120.

Voodoo3? All-in-Wonder 128 (but I heard is not great for gaming)? Other?

Thanks for your help :)

You could buy a Voodoo 3 2000 PCI for around $80 so I believe, and then quite easily overclock it to Voodoo 3 3000 speeds and above. The Voodoo 3 is getting a bit old to be honest, but it will certainly give you a nice boost over a single Voodoo 2 card, and should tide you over for a while, until you next upgrade. I am among many happy Voodoo 3 owners on this board who is still satisfied with the performance of the card. I've had my Voodoo 3 since August last year, and I probably won't be upgrading until at least after christmas.

I think you'll be pleased with a Voodoo 3, although I'm sure some others will have different suggestions :)

Yeah, he's right, V3 PCI is probably your best bet (your processor can't be like a 550 or more cause you don't have an AGP, right?) AIW Rage 128 Pro is around TNT2 Ultra's speed, around, but it's a little more expensive. If you are lucky you can find a V3 3500 for maybe 120. Look on the For Sale forum.

I heard the GeForce MX pci cards perform noticably worse than their agp counterparts. If I were you i weould find out how will they perform before buying. Im a happy voodoo 3 owner and it's a great card. You wont be disapointed if you get one.

You can get the voodoo3 3k PCI at staples.com. Item 426159.

Pricematch to Office depot B+M-- This week's Sunday flyer has it for 89.99. Then apply a $25 off coupon. Final price ~ $65 + tax (+shipping??).
Perhaps you can convince them to not include the shipping bc the store is local.

I don't think you can get more bang for the bux.

njunear ,the PCI Creative Geforce2 MX card should be in the shops soon so if you can wait a few weeks you will have more to choose from, also Hercules are supposed to have one out sometime soon. But at this time you don`t have many to choose from.
