I have a lite-on 4X burner that has serverd me well for the last 2 years. Time to upgrade and have been out of the loop as far as DVD burners go. Recomend me a good one for under $80.00.
thanks in advance for everybodys input.

nec 3540a i believe is within that budget. or 3520a for around 60bucks. pioneer 109 i believe is a good one also dont recall price though.

Uh..if you noticed, my first recommendation was the Benq...so, not all of us are blindly recommending the NEC.

No worries, i wasn't referring to you 🙂

You obviously did your research, which is refreshing, since most people here don't seem to.

No doubt. Even though I have a 3520, I understand that the Benq 1640 is a most excellent drive. I recommend it to my friends also.

Personally I'd reccomend the Pioneer DVR-109 (or the 110 if it's out). I have burnt plenty of CD's/DVD's, and I havent burnt a coaster yet.

Best burner I've ever used.

NEC3520 has a refined aftermarket firmware. Benq has a quality control issue.

I just got my 1640 and done 18 burns in a row no problem. My friend who also just got one at the same time (We ordered together) has done 7 burns without a problem.

True I need many more burns, but so far I'm perfectly happy
