In light of all the "service at BB sucks" threads:

I thought I'd start a thread about places where customer service is great. First on my list here in Los Angeles would be The Good Guys. These people here have to be the best customer service, period. I've walked in there on many occasions to make purchases and the sales people have never pushed a warranty on me, never tried to make me buy various cables, etc.I don't know if I just come off looking like I know what I need so they don't bother or what, but I'm always impressed. Additionally, they are very willing to negotiate on price. I don't make fits to any degree. I simply talk to the salesman a little and he goes off to check with management or a pricelist of some sort, and comes back to me with a lower price. Last experience was a few weeks ago. Went in to buy an amp for my car. Price on the unit was $320. I asked if he could do $300 out the door, including tax. He went to check and let me have the amp for $250 before tax. All I did was ask. I didn't offer a pricematch or anything to the sort. And I have been able to make similar deals before on other items.
In short, like some others mentioned, for every good experience, one might tell a single person, but for every bad they might tell 8. This is my little contribution to telling people about good customer service.

Amazon.com

I have bought 2 books from them before. The second one I chose expedited international mail (5-10 business days). I emailed 20 business days later asking where it was and said that it must either be lost in the mail or something weird happened on their end. Without hesitation they offered to refund the entire price including shipping to my visa.

I was quite impressed. They were fast and eager to please! I finally got it WAAAAY late, so it had been lost in the mail - or delayed. Eitherway I like amazon.

Bryn Mawr Stereo/Video(now known as Tweeter)...the people there have to go to a mini-college before they are allowed to work there. They know everything. Very helpful.

Dell

-when I was mistakenly sent the wrong cable for my new printer, they overnighted me a new one, free of charge, and let me keep the old one.
-when my modem lost the dialtone, the tech guy was kind enough to RMA it (i think it might have related to problems that had been occurring with that specific model-otherwise it likely would have been deemed an "act of god")...the new modem was free and included a prepaid label to ship back the old one
-when i recently experienced an IOS error after a formatting, tech support spent a total of about 5 hours on the phone with me; many companies arent that dedicated, especially considering that they could have passed it off as a software error, or made me try the factory defaults before helping me out.
-their website is great. just put in your service tag #, found on the side of the system, and find your system's drivers, documentation, specs, etc
-I love the cases they use.

Like I said, no problems with Best Buy here. I like them, and will continue to buy from them.

Compaq- Bought a Compaq V90 19" monitor at CDW about 4 years ago for 735 bucks. To say I was less that pleased with the image is an understatement. Dealing with CDW was a pain, so I contacted Compaq. They overnighted a new 19 incher to me and also a prepaid shipping label to send the old 19 incher back.

OK, that was cool, second monitor sucked too (where is the quality control) so I called em again, and sure enough, they sent another new 19 incher with another prepaid shipping label for the old 19 incher.

I found out that Airborne express charges about 120 bucks for one way overnight shipping of one of those monitors like Compaq did. So, basically, Compaq spent 400 bucks to make me happy. I am pleased with the 3rd monitor and have been using it for 3 years without complaint.

My local True Value Hardware (not PC hardware!) store. You walk in the place, they ask you what you're looking for, take you right to it, then take you back to the counter and ring you up. It's a cool place!
