- This may be against the law in Italia. He may not come home after he does this.
If he wants to buy some serious equipment then I would recomend getting the same stuff they use on the south pole.

Pringles italy. (Is there an italian Radio Shack?) Actually I was semi-joking, but with a decent antenna and an unobstructed veiw at a hotspot would probably allow a conection. Your friend could talk to the hotspot owners and work out a deal.
