In India, 4 rapists and murderers given death sentence

I say the judge has done the right thing. This is gonna set an example for people who think rape is okay.
Obviously they will now appeal in the High Court and then the Supreme court, but I think this verdict is good for a start.

I think most of their death row inmotes probably die of anything else in prison including old age than the actual sentence itself.

India's death penalty is even more of a joke than in the US.

The upside is that they'll spend the rest of their lives in an Indian prison. That's a pretty horrific fate right there.

People say that men needs to change mentality and treat all girls similarly whether they are wearing bikni or wearing a saare.
And girls/women are not willing to wear proper attire because that would be taken as a threat to there independence.

Well, I have no problem with that. But, can someone elaborate to me how can men mentality/nature be changed?
Just like women are opposed to the idea of loosing there independence, men too are on the same league.

It's good to say that men mentality needs to change for discussions, but how in reality is that supposed to happen?
How would you curb the mentality of people who have a tendency to rape?
How would you find them in the first place?
Isn't prevention better then cure. Until or unless someone would come with a sureshot cure!
If you don't have a way to find the people who have a tendency to rape. And change there mentality. Then isn't the solution for women for the time being is to accept the solution that others have. Even though it's not full proof?
It's good to show that you are strong, modern, self confident figure. But, beleive me once the rape happens. Everything else just disappears pretty fast.

What they did to that girl is far beyond gang rape. Not that that isn't horible enought. They raped her AND used a piece of steel rebar to violate her. For hours.

I think about what she could have been thinking, enduring this, for hours. I think about my wife, my daughter, my sister, the other women in my life.

Mostly i'm just sad about it. i don't really care what punishment these a$$holes get, life or death.

I didn't know this girl. I don't anything about her. Somehow she has become a hero to me. A call for us to do better. A reminder. Let us not

Well, it was more grusome then the steel rod. Actually, there was no steel rod used at all. The media and others have hid the fact that the accused have actually put his hand inside and took out the internal parts(intestine etc).
Later on the doctors were unable to stop the bleeding from those parts that actually resulted in her death.

But, I am still waiting for an answer for my previous comment as to how the girls or others are going to make men change there mentality. I saw a show on a news channel where the media, girls, men etc were after Mr A.P singh because he said that the attire of women should be graceful. And people concluded that men mentality needs to change not the clothes of women. And Mr A.P singh is insane for saying something like that. But, nobody actually stated how do they plan to change men's mentality!

Can anyone opposed to the fact that women should atleast try to wear graceful attire explain to me how would they change men mentality?

if you have a reliable source on this let me know.. i have some friends who are members of the VHP, this could be big news if true... it'll cause our media to go crazy..
