In IE6 how do you display & keep the status bar?

I like having the status bar in the bottom, helps to know how far along the page has gone in loading. But everytimg I open a new IE window theres no status bar. I have to check VIEW > STATUS BAR every time which is annoying.

Help a guy out, man!
