East Coasters are the rudest people on the earth. Sure there are some who aren't but they are far and few between or Asian.

The South.

I have to talk to a good number of New Yorkers, Californians, and Texans every day.

I far prefer the Texans.

I would say the south for sure. I moved from hammond and here you cannot pass one person on the road with out waving back, or go to a store and not return a hello to someone.
Back in Chicago or Hammond you drove down the road and wave they would spin around and shoot your A$$ thinking you flashed a gang sign.
Also people here are so happy to lend a hand and we got all kinds of home grown vegitables and welcomes into the neighborhood.
I like the south :D

the thing that makes west coast my lesser choice even though i'm from the west is korea-town. I'm korean, but man, i'll tell you, koreans are like the most pissed off people there are. lol. i hate it.

I've been to the east coast, and they seem more forgiving and tolerant, even though a lot of them seem self-centered and rushed in my view, but once you get to talk to them, all that i've met seem pretty nice.

Maybe it's because I live in the west coast; the percentage of pissed off people I see is higher just because I live here.

ya ya we are pretty laid back.

I love my San Diego. Even though I grew up in LA and still love LA, SD is a lot more laid back and 10folds nicer.

well, the South seems more inviting, but I've seen my fair share of southerners getting riled up very easily (well, only from gaming experience from mmorpgs, gaming clans, etc. a ton of them I've met online are from the south), but they're very damn loyal, well, at least gaming wise rofl. They'll stay fiercely loyal to their own clan haha.

Most people say East Coast is rude because they're too inept to handle the fast-paced, urban environments.

I've found the Chicago area to vary in politeness. Some areas are very polite while others (Hammond and Gary for example) I wouldn't visit without a loaded sidearm and a damn good reason to be there.

The main reason that traffic sucks in western washington is all of the people from california coming up. ;) :p

Honestly though, there are rude people everywhere. Although I think its funny that you choose the 2 sides and nothing from the middle.

Having been all over the country, I'd have to say this is the most accurate guage...plenty of jerks in cities all through the USA & the bigger the city, the more rude they are!

I agree, I'm from the midwest, and have been too both coasts, and though I think the west might have a slight edge, the south puts them all to shame. Went to N.O. a few years ago and was shocked at how nice everyone was.
