In general, what's the average ceiling P4's hit when overclocking?

Ok, if I wanted the highest FSB possible... say 533+. Should I aim for a 2.6C(266*13 for 3.46GHz) or a 2.8C(266*14 for 3.7GHz)? I doubt the 2.8C will reach that speed, so the 2.6C would probably be the best right?

My dad just got a 3.0C. It won't hit 3.6GHz stabley.

here's the deal...

2.4, 2.6, 2.8 all will hit around 3.3 to 3.4

the question is, do you want to run 1:1 or 5:4?

if 1:1 is what you want, then your best bet is to go with the 2.8 but 1:1 means running some nasty 3-4-4-8 or 2.5-4-4-7 or whatever sorts of ram timings
if 5:4 is what you want, then your best bet is to go with the 2.4 or 2.6 and run tighter ram timings... pc3500 or less should be sufficient..

i am running 292 mhz fsb with the 5:4 making my ram run at 234 mhz @ 2.5-4-3-7 which isn't the best timings but stable and fast enough for me!
