this is actually a question about a problem i'm having in Counter Strike, but its a technical question so i guess this is the best board for it..

i recently bought the logitech mx500 mouse and i wanted to make the two buttons on the side serve as functions in the game


i tried to make one of the buttons on the side my alt. fire button....so i went into config to do so and it asked me to press the button for alt fire and i press it and it sets the alt fire button to mbutton 4 with no problem, so i click okay and go into the game

but in the game the button doesnt do anything, the scroll button works fine as do the two primary buttons, but the button on the side wont do anything..

it shows up in the config screen but it doesnt function in the game..


does anyone know what i can do to fix this?

I had a similar problem with Soldier Of Fortune when I wanted to use the scroll wheel to select weapons. If I ensured that the Logitech Mouseware software was not running (exit or end tasked it) then it would work fine. Give that a go....it might work.
