do you mean where did they go? i thought they went to a dimension of pure evil as witnessed briefly on the ship's logs.

did you mean a specific location in the universe? well then i'd have to say jersey city :)

Haha.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was asking. I'm watching this movie again for the umpteenth time and it never fails to fascinate me.

For some reason, I can't get that particular scene out of my head. Maybe I have a penchant for human torture or something, but there are so many odd things to it.

For example, there is a guy with what looks like an arm coming out of his mouth. How is this possible? Or is it something else coming out or going in?

Who knows? Did something of the physics of entering a black hole cause the crew(s) to go mad? Was it a spiritual hell? Was it a dimension of pure evil? I love it...I haven't watched it in years, gotta go buy the dvd. I'll be watching it alone, though, my gf refuses to watch it. :)

i haven't had the opportunity to watch the movie again on vhs or dvd so i couldn't pause during the ship's log viewing but i have to say that i found those scenes the most intriguing and probably the most difficult to get out of my memory.

i think it was something other than an arm but it's hard to be sure.

It's really strange because it is one of those scenes that, upon first viewing, shocks and slightly disgusts, but after time, you just become more intrigued as to what was actually happening.

Yup. Replace lost spaceship with lost Martian moon colony, replace research scientists with Space Marines, crank up the action, and you've got the perfect movie version of 'Doom'.

The arm you saw was him ripping out his own gutts. Just like how the Doctor ripped out his own eyes.

And of course they mentioned "Hell" a few times before they blew up the ship.

A bad LSD trip. Didn't it just make them see things that actually weren't there and made them crazy?
