I'm in Chicago until about Tuesday waiting for some paperwork to get processed. What are some good hole in the wall places to visit eat that aren't too crowded or swamped during the weekend and Monday?

heard on the local news they just closed down a long time hot dog stand with a cult following for some rail station construction. Little late for that ,but any other local favs would be cool to check out. Downtown or wherever.

If you want a big old slice of pizza go to Bacci's Pizza. I think its $4 for a huge slice and a drink. Theres one about a block away from Wrigley Field. They have other locations throughout the city.
Sultan's Market if you like middle eastern food.
Flat Top Grille. not a hole in the wall but really good. Dinner is really expensive so unless you havent eaten in a few days just go for lunch. You put whatever you want into a bowl and then have them toss it around in a wok. All you can eat.
ChiTung if you can make it out to Everygreen Park. Its at 95th and Kedzie. Its a Chinese/Thai/Japanese restaurant. The menu is huge and they are really good. It can get a little busy though.

They all have websites except the last one so check them out for their locations.

If you want good pizza, try Pequod's. I was in Chicago last summer, and of the places we went, they had the best pizza. It was definitely a hole in the wall, and wasn't crowded at all.

try.

Rockbottom at warrenville and 88 - good brewpub and you can enjoy a movie at the theater that is nearby.

Fox & Hound out by the Fox Valley mall (there are actually quite a few good places around the mall area to hang out.

Connies Pizza in Naperville is great pizza. If you go to downtown Chicago, try the prime rib special at the Chicago Chop house. It's a huge cut of slow roasted prime rib that is seared on the outside like a steak. Comes with potato and salad. I always have that when I'm in the Chicago area. It's incredible.

I think it's $3.50 for Bacci's at the one in Cicero, but their prices may be different.
Flat Top is great stuff, but like you said go for lunch.
For pizza, Lou Malnati's is supposed to be great for deep dish but my favorite is Home Run Inn's thin crust. Even if you've had the frozen, try it you won't not like it.
For an all you can eat meat feast, try Fogo de Chao downtown. It's expensive ($30 for lunch, $55 for dinner IIRC) but it's AMAZING. Get the lemonade if you go there, best I've ever had.

There's always Portillos (Hot Dog place)

Portillos is tight, if you want to grab a brew or something I'm all the fvck up in the NW subs, no one wants to nail down a confirmed meet up though.

The one in Downers Grove is $3.50 for a slice too. The rent in Wrigleyville must be crazy.

Speaking of Wrigleyville and the whole Clark and Belmont area for that matter, there are a ton of places around there to eat at and stores to wander into. Might be worth it to check it out.
