If you bought $1000 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be
worth $49.

If you bought $1000 worth of Budweiser (the beer, not the stock) one
year ago, drank all the beer, and traded in the cans for the nickel deposit, you would have $79.

Talk about liquid assetts (sorry about the pun :) ).

I'd recommend you start drinking heavily! ;)

EDIT: This was forwarded to me, and I don't know how much beer costs, so I don't know how accurate this is :)

<< Bud sucks though. >>

Yes... that's very true.

But Sierra Nevada Pale Ale doesn't. Or Bass Ale. Or... well.. you get the point. Of course, we'd have less money left in the above analysis if we bought good beer (becuase we'd have few bottles to turn in)... but hey... we wouldn't have as bigga beer guts, and we'd have drank so much tastier suds. ;) :D

<< you drink your beer from cans?????????? >>

Hey, we're talking pure economics here ;)

But Bud is a bit more expensive than some beers...now getting $1000 worth of Pabst or Hamms would probably get you more cans. Probably make you sick, too ;)

The 52 week average of BUD ( stock symbol) is up 7.4%

So if you had bought the stock ($1000 worth) you would be up about $75 bucks. :D

At an average price of ohhhhhh lets say $15 a case, you could throw a party for your friends with 5 cases of beer, and still have your original investement, minus capital gains taxes of course.
