ATI to pump up employee count
Hiring like mad

A SPATE OF hiring by Canadian chip firm ATI reveals it's using its latest profit to good advantage.
The firm has listed a heap of jobs ranging from account programme managers to senior test engineers on the Workopolis web site.
All of the jobs are listed as being located in Toronto, Canada, and some of them are of interest to its future technology plans.
A job for a chipset validation architect will include managing 20 engineers and technologists and he or she will be responsible for the overall architecture of a PC chipset design.
There's also jobs for loadboard enginners, ISV engineers, a patent counsel, a senior application engineer and a Microsoft platform programme manager.
A senior software engineer will work on Symbian 3D and work on 2D/3D graphics, MPEG codecs and video conference.
ATI also needs a senior NT networking specialist, a patent lawyer, and a senior accountant.
A PR specialist will drive activities with "fan sites", online communities and gaming communities. She or he needs the ability to develop and pitch a story, and to juggle multiple projects. The successful candidate will also have to think "outside the box".
