%&@!'in Bioshock 2!!!

Kabob

I bought Bioshock 2 the other day, played completely through one of the levels (which are pretty lock) and did everything (saved all little sisters, found all weapons upgrades, researched most bad guys, found most audio diaries) and decided to save it before I ended the level. Game freezes during save and corrupts file. D'oh!!!

For those who have played it does this happen often?

Think thats bad? I Steam'd the PC version and couldn't even save the game unless I created a Windows Live account and was logged in. Which would have been amazing to know before I spent the first 5 hour play session playing without a Windows Live account (and it doesn't let you create one after the fact, either).

Was so pissed I couldn't play it for a week.

Yeah, thankfully my autosave from when I started the level is still there (the level with the priest) but I lost a good 2 1/2 hours or so of playing that level.

I've never had that happen to me either, but you aren't the first person I've seen complain about a corrupted save. Unfortunately it does happen, although it seems fairly rare.

Quicksave FTW. I recommend you change the quicksave button so it isnt right next to the quickload button (stupid design if I ever saw it). Use it every 10 minutes just in case.

Tough to quicksave on an Xbox 360...and that wouldn't help me anyways as the save file was corrupted. Worst part is that I almost saved to a different location that last time (which would have corrupted the new save and not the one I'd made 5 mins before).

happened to me towards the end too, that shit pisses me off.

I started playing something else and haven't gone back to finish it yet, the game was pretty meh overall.

nothing beats bethesda games for just randomly crashing on the 360. FO3 and Oblivion were two of my favorite games ever made but holy shit do they freeze at the worst possible moments.

Yep. Most games I am currently into are on the HD.

I had issues with Ghostbusters when i installed it to my hard drive. The game jsut locked up more often on the HD for soem reason. I simply think ... OPh Microsoft product .... bhetter assume they didn't waste time properly testing the HD install feature and just went back to usign the DVD.

I can't say it has happened to me, but that HAS to suck. I play Bioshock 2 and it takes a bit of time to complete all of the missions in a level. especially having to rescue little sisters, diaries, etc.

I played it all the way through without installing to HDD and never had a save problem. If the game allows me to I'll always save to an alternate slot so if something happens I only lose a couple hours at most.

Which I should have done (and almost did).
