What gets to you first? Say you're sitting in a subway.

Obviously you'd see an explosion first. Then the glass windows would blow out. Is that due to the force of the explosive, or the sound of the explosion?

I doubt you'd see the exlposion, it would all happen almost at the same time. And yes, it's the shock waves through air that shatter the windows.
