In an average car, how long can you leave your headlights on before it drains your battery?

By average car I assume you mean a car whose lights don't auto turn on at engine ignition.

The lights in my Subaru don't turn on unless the ignition is on.

lol then that means your car automatically turns the lights off if you leave them on.
