Pittsburgh got pretty rowdy last night after the Super Bowl victory. The news stations put crews on the ground to be in the midst of all the mayhem, and every time they went to them, you saw the news reporters getting tackled and people just being douches. One time they went to one of the guys who was broadcasting live as a Pitt student was setting a couch on fire.

All in all, there were 5 fires just on Pitt's campus, a bus shelter was destroyed, businesses were looted... it was pretty pathetic. I'm all for having a good time (I "rioted" after we won in 2005), but that was just a bunch of people all celebrating. This was anarchy.

The same kind of stuff happened here when the Phillies won the World Series. It's disgusting, I know.

A lot of people always seem to be just looking for an excuse to act like idiots. I remember when we had the hockety riots here in '94, I know a lot of people did not care about, or even watched the game, but came out into the streets to act like assholes when the big crowds formed.

Yeah pretty much. Only about 50% of Pitt's students are from Pittsburgh.. a sizeable minority are from Philly where they all but take over the campus when the Eagles are playing. Most of them hate the Steelers, yet there was no way that crowd didn't include many eastern PA people.

It's funny that Detroit has the rep for sporting rioters and there have been no riots during the Wings and Pistons championship seasons.

guess everyone sucks, huh?

Why did you leave the Lions off your list?

What better way to celebrate the towns success, than by destroying it and robbing local business that support the city and team!

He didn't want to rub it in our faces that they had a perfect season. 😀
