Then your parents are being superficial. Most asian parents are.

The persons career and ... are highly important with traditional asian parents. Happy to say my parents are a little more liberal than that. They only have one stipulation with who I date. :)

Its a asian thing.

My wife was scared to tell her parents about me, ole cracker whitey. Mind you she was 30 years old and still had that idea. Heck its not even asian as it is a country culture thing. Her father only wanted his kids to marry other vietnamese and a lot of other asian families are the same.

Of course my wife is spreading the jungle fever as her very shy friend that is controlled by her mom is kinda seeing a white guy. And I know my mom was a little freaked out I married a 5foot asian woman, I am 6foot. So the height thing is pure bull. My aunt is 5 foot and her husband is 6-6 or so.

My wife's uncle and aunt are 6'5 and 4'11

I'm 6'4 and my wife is 5'10 and that seems to be just right for us.

Everyone has a different opinion/preference

Height difference is the least of your worries, there are so many more important qualities. I doubt that you'll be able to get your parents to understand, but if your have a good relationship stick with it. Those are hard to find.

pretty stupid.

I'm not necessarily attracted to people who are shorter than I am right away, but if I met a person with whom I really clicked on every level, their height wouldn't get in the way.

edit: for me, it's like blonde vs brunette... I usually find myself more attracted to blondes initially, but I'd never let a person's hair color stand in the way of a relationship, especially considering how many of us (myself included) are bottle blondes ;)

I hate to say this but tell your parents to but out and height is only a problem if it is really extreme like 8 foot tall guy dating a 4 foot midget. That i could see as a problem, but i am 6"7 and my gf is 5"4 and we have never had a problem with it. Other than me occasionally called her short stuff.

Easier to throw the short girls in different positions. :D

I'm 5'9 and my gf is 5'1 and she'll fit under my chin. She has to tippy toe to kiss, but the hugging is awesome because you don't bump heads.

Asian parents are like that. Opinions on everything. Have they spent ANY time at all getting to know your girl?
