In a dilemma about laptop

Ok so i bought a macbook last week, good laptop, upgraded to 2gigs of ram and it flies, it was fairly cheap for what you get. But there is a huge problem with the wireless. It is incompatible with with linksys routers. Every time i get on the wireless at my house and the it goes on standby or I turn it off it kills my routers. No matter if I connect through my airport express or wireless router, it kills my main non wireless ethernet router that is connected to my dsl modem. I contacted apple and they pretty much blamed it on linksys, then linksys blames it on apple. Well anyway I am thinking about returning the macbook and getting something else, but thing is, I dont know of another laptop in the $1000 range of the macbook that has the same specs. Can anyone recommend me something in the same range that with about the same specs? I need 13" or smaller if it has good resolution and also has to use ddr2 667 ram because I dont want to return the 2gb i bought for the macbook. Or do you guys think that apple will get off their ass and fix the problem with their airport extreme cards?
