I am getting a Corsair Carbide 500R case for a new build. It has 2.5 inch bay holes for its hard drive holders and states it is SSD ready. But from watching the following video I am not sure (it seems its 2.5 brackets have holds at bottom not sides.) For example, in the following video at the 9:00 mark the Newegg guy shows this drive holders and makes a comment about SSDs fitting: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ab=true&Page=2

I am going to get a Sumsung 830 SSD drive it comes in two desktop models, one with a mounting kit and one without. About a $10 to $20 price difference. If I do not need the mount, I will get the non-mount kit one.

Will I need a mounting bracket?

SSD's have mounting holes on both the sides and bottom. You don't need a kit.

No you do not.

I own the same case with an SSD.. Every one of the bays has holes to mount 2.5" drives.

Here is my Case.... if you look at the middle hard drive, you can see my SSD mounted in the bay with no adapters.

I know, I'm waiting for Extension cables to come....will clean up the cables soon :).

(I just upgraded my case 2 weeks ago)

Edit: Just found out my cables are waiting for me home.
