it's hard for me to keep up with the prices.

the AM2 2.4 GHz for $145 is kind of an all time best-deal-i've ever seen. that's a fast processor.

so i guess how much Socket 939 sales fade is up to AMD. i haven't read all the news reports, but i get the impression they're trying to standardize on AM2.

factory space wise, doesn't this mean shutting down socket 939 lines ?

basically what i'm really trying to figure out is if the Asus A8N32 will still be selling lots of boards in 6-9 months. both it and the M2N32 get great reviews, with the M2N32 out pulling it i think by a few percent.

It probably won't be. When (r)e-tailers stop selling 939 processors, then it will die (duh). But I think that the lowered prices will drive sales up.

AMD is suppose to drop 939 prices 39 to 50 percent july 27 and stop making 939 processors early 2007 so I guess the next upgrade will be am2 and there already talking about am3 compatability with am2 the upgrade game is getting pretty old.
