Not a thing really, just another trip around the sun but considering they told me I have stage IV lung cancer 3 yrs ago it’s a big deal to me :)

I told my Oncologist then that I hate odd numbers & reminded her that she’s going to need to keep me going for another year.

Old age...a goal to shoot for:) Now to decide on my cake flavor :)

It's a huge deal. I don't need to tell you rates or survival.... The one good thing about being a Respiratory Therapist is I get to work will all the patient populations. If you are in my hospital and have lungs, odds are I will see you at some point. I've seen many oncology patients come and go. You are a survivor. Keep doing that. Congrats on another trip around the Sun.

Happy birthday! I recommend anything but chocolate cake.

I spent way too much time in hospitals in 2016 so sticking it to the docs and their timelines is always worth celebrating. All the best and see you here next year!!

I don't think I've ever had any interaction with you, but I have seen you here for a long time.

I generally stay out of OT, but I saw your thread title while browsing on the main page. I just wanted to say good luck, and you seem to be a very strong person with a great sense of humor. This past year I had a cancer scare, and I didn't face it with the same strong will you possess.

Best of luck to you, and whatever time you have left here on this rock, enjoy every moment as none of us are guaranteed tomorrow.

Nobody faces a possible cancer DX well, I was numb at first, then basically fell apart internally.

As to the rest, I have said repeatedly that I am not going anywhere till I hold the perfect smartphone in my hand...figure I’ll be here awhile :)

How great can a country be if we allow millions of our people to sicken & die of otherwise treatable conditions?

Yeah we need to get folks to quit smoking, lose weight, etc but we need to get them in the loop,,get them treated, then work with them on plans to improve their health. Flat out withdrawal of care, I don’t believe that is who we are!

Just keep a positive outlook like it looks like you have been. I truly believe your state of mind is by far your biggest ally when dealing with potentially life changing events and medical issues.

Stay strong and show that cancer whos boss.
