In 100 years none of this is going to matter.

Have a good night. :)

10 years. guaranteed. o_O
We won't need the forums. Members will be assimilated as part of a "hive". Resistance will be futile. ;)

In 100 years, most people will be wearing masks to try to breathe through all the pollution, the world is generally going to be crap (like 10x worse what it is now), economy is going to be down the crapper even democratic countries will mostly be dictatorships with no rights or liberties, most people will be unemployed and those who are will be working like 5 part time jobs just to try to make ends meet. Most websites or the internet as a whole is probably be down as most people won't have internet anymore given their living situation and having to give up luxuries.

But with all that, the Space Jam site is still going to be up.

Not. The evolution of man will see new technological breakthroughs.

Problem is governments and oil companies will work very closely to ensure such tech does not make it. They want to continue to use oil to control the people and have wars such as the ISIS one, which further fuels agendas. Government agendas mostly revolve around money and control, and oil is a big part of that. They will probably allow Tesla to go so far but if they see them as a threat they'll just pass some regulation about lithium ion batteries or something. "Think of the children! Those things can explode!" general public will eat that up. I don't think lithium ion is really the future anyway though, but whatever else comes up they'll figure a reason to ban it. Heck a lot of places already don't allow solar, wind, or any other method of living off grid. If you are off grid you are not dependent on the system and are harder to control or take advantage of.

The trend seems to be that governments are becoming more and more dictators as well, even in a democracy, the idea of voting is mostly just an illusion of freedom. It's all a big system and there's nothing that can be done to stop it. Elections are just a distraction from the real issues. General public tend to get hung up on the most idiotic issues like celebrities and LGBT and crap like that and forget about the real issues like the declining job market, increasing costs of living, mass surveillance etc. So all this will only get worse I imagine. I'd hate to see what things will be like in 50 years, or 100.

Or perhaps the sheep will eventually wakeup and there will be a big movement by the people to crush this system, but it would really need to be an international effort as these issues are everywhere. I guess I kinda went off on a tangent here. :p Long story short I think in 100 years from now things will be worse than they are now as far as freedom and liberties go.

True. It depends on my mood though. If I'm super excited and hopeful then the glass is half full. If I'm feeling down and frustrated then the glass is half empty.

The 100 year statement I made is me feeling a bit nihilistic. I hate hate hate to think that way, because I'd like to think life matters. But does it? In the end few of us are remembered. How many average Joe and Janes from the Roman era can you name? I know Caesar and a few other important figures from that time. That's it.

I'm a realist. It's a half glass of water.

and you're right, none of this shit matters. Empires rise, empires fall, and all the stupid posessions people obsess over will soon be in the flea markets with a $10 pricetag, but sold for $2 after haggling.

Technically the glass is full. Half water, half air. Or is that vinegar? Probably just water, don't you need a special permit to buy vinegar? :p
