I have a couple of CDs of foreign music, but the quality of some of the songs isn't the greatest. Is there any way that I can improve it?

Probably not worth the time and or effort. I would imagine there are programs that "clean up" bad sound tracks but I'm not sure if it is mainstream consumer type stuff. Just try to find higher quality versions.

It's damn near impossible to find higher quality versions. That's the problem. Aside from that, I don't even know the songs' names.

If you're trying to clean up some hiss or background "noise", you can use a sound editor, like Goldwave, to clean it up. Just rip the track to .wav and then use the editor to clean it up. It won't actually improve the sound itself, but it will remove the annoying background noise.

that's about as much as you can expect to do to a recorded song

Thanks. Is there anything that would "equalize" the sound though? Sometimes, I get dips from part to part - any way to fix that sort of thing?
