Improving text on LCD monitor w/ Win2k

I've just had dual LCD monitors set up, but I can't for the life of me get the text to look decent! It's all rendered at about a one pixel width and it needs to be bigger to look good! I'm running the LCD's at the native resolution and refresh rate... but I'm stuck using analong (no DVI!).

Any ways to improve clarity I'm overlooking?

Is the quality issue on both monitors? Are the monitors the same make/model? If you disconnect one of the monitors, does the problem go away?

No, it's present on both monitors... I don't think it's a quality issue... I just can't get the text to be rendered at any more than one pixel in width.
