Improving image quality on Leadtek TV2000 XP?

I recently installed a Leadtek TV2000 XP tuner/video capture card since I do not have space in my current living arrangements for a discrete television set. Overall I like it, very easy to use interface and decent picture quality for TV watching. However, I also am running my Gamecube through the card and the picture quality is pretty lousy for use with a game console. Very blurry, washed-out looking most of the time. Some screencaps from Metroid Prime to give you an idea (as BMPs to avoid additional artifacts):

Screencap #1
Screencap #2
Screencap #3
Screencap #4
Screencap #5
Screencap #6
Screencap #7

Problem is, there is no setting in the Leadtek software for turning off de-interlacing or whatever other image processing it does that leads to the picture being so blurry. Does anyone know of any tweaks for improving the image quality?

Also, on a related note: does anyone know if there is a VGA adapter for the Gamecube that would allow it to be plugged directly into a PC monitor?

De-interlacing is required as the video output from the GameCube is interlaced, and your PC monitor is non-interlaced. Deinterlacing does not add blurriness.

You are also taking a NTSC signal with about 520 lines of resolution and displaying it on a PC monitor running at a much higher resolution. This will cause some quality degradation.

You could try using some alternate software such as DScaler. DScaler has a built in Sharpness filter that works great. It also has several deinterlacing modes to choose from. You can download it from here: http://deinterlace.sourceforge.net/

It will work with most TV cards out there.... Your Leadtek card included.
