Improving FM Reception

I have a TV/FM tuner card in my computer, and I get only mediocre reception. I have tried a few things to improve the reception such as buying set of "rabbit ears" antennas and a Jenses amplified antenna. Neither has helped much. Are there any antennas out there that truely improve reception?
 
Terk makes quite a few powered antennas, but you could just run some coax up to the attic and put your regular antenna up there.
