1) WTF, is ebay infested with nigerian scammers? I got at least 8 messages from scammers claiming to be doctors with sons who were working for Unesco in nigeria and they'll send me $2000 (for a laptop i got for $400) if we do the exchange privately.

2) People posting fake bids on my item, bidding it up to 14K... wtf doesn't ebay have some sort of software to detect these BS bids?

How the hell do you powersellers deal with this crap? Or do scammers avoid you guys? I guess people see my 3 ratings and assume i'm more likely to fall for that stuff, huh? Seems like wayyyyy too much trouble to start a business.

it depends on what you're selling too. high priced items (like laptops, ps3s, etc) will be more likely to be hit by scammers than other stuff.

Yeah I finally got sick of it and closed my account that I had since 2002. It just keeps getting worse and Ebay doesn't give a damn as long as they are making money off of it. I stick to selling on here now. There are a lot of decent traders in the FS/FT forum.

Laptops, phones, and mp3 player listings will get you bombarded with spam. I stick to memory, hard drives, and CPUs and don't get that problem.

except the users here expect everything to sell at 50%-70% of what you can get it off ebay for, even though it is used there as well. I prefer to sell here because its easier to deal with people... but if oyu want to get close to what your stuff is worth you have to go ebay.
