Impossibly low CPU temps + shutdown

The CoreCenter mobo monitor that comes with my MSI K8N Neo2 Plat is saying that my CPU temps are -12C and stuff. So that's obviously wrong. Earlier, it was reading about 45, which sounded right. Also, while watching a DVD using windows media player 10, i attempted to open iTunes, and my computer froze and then instantly shut off.

Another oddity is that it says my processor is at 201 x 11, giving 2210 MHz. Shouldn't it be 200x11? I've not done any overclocking. Also, Cool'n'Quiet is turned off. My system temp reads 28C. CPU and NorthBridge fans are at max rpm.

I have installed all the mobo and cbipset drivers, installed newest NVidia drivers for my GeCrap3 and i'm on a fresh install of XP -- being that i just built this computer and have only used it a matter of hours since it was built.

Any ideas?

no idea about the incorrect core temp. i would reccomend using mbm5 instead of the included software for monitoring temps, etc. about the clock: things are frequently off by a little bit, i know my nf7-s v2 clocks at 200.45 when it is set to 200, so it is nothing to worry about.
