Impossible to get AIW Remote to work?

Just built a new SFF system and decided to go with the ATI 9800pro AIW. Problem is I can not get the remote to work whatso ever. I've installed drivers (then plugged in the RF receiver like advised), also tried updating to latest drivers, but remote still ceases to work. Batteries are brand new and I know the remote has power indicated by the red light on top. I get an error message upon bootup that which I'm almost positive relates to my problem, but I really don't know enough to solve it. Any recommendations?

Here's the basic error message I get : "Run a DLL as an App has encountered a problem and needs to close." ( I can get the details if needed)

Seagate Barracuda 160gb HD

i just got one too. using ALL the latest ati drivers , working no problem. i have had that error from windows before and always ended up reinstalling. you can also try typing "msconfig" at the run command. go to the startup tab and uncheck the startup entry for the remote. if that stops the error then you'll at least know thats the problem.
