After wasting so many hours, I'm just sick of not finding the right monitor here in North American market. I realized that all the resonably-priced monitors are based on TN pannel, IPS panel monitors are too expensive, and there is no monitor that has input options I want. Now, how would you like monitors like this?:

1.
26" H-IPS panel,
92% Color gaumet.
Input ports: D-Sub, HDMI, S-VHS, Component, Composite, DVI, RF-Antenna.
16:9, 4:3 aspect ratio support.
Built in HDTV tuner.
Buit in stereo spearks.
Tilt/Pivot/Swivel/Elevation stand.
Remote controller.
PIP, POP, PBP support.

2. Plain H-IPS monitor without extra functions(Like DS-263N) but cheaper.

3.
30" latest generation(Q5)-IPS panel.
102% Color gaumet.
Input ports: DVI
Nothing fancy expect its Q5 Panel but it'll be CHEAP.

Of course, the price would be the important factor here, but I can't really comment on that because I need to calculate all the added costs to make it happen. What I'm sure at this point is that it'll be cheap. In other word, It'll have better price/performance ratio than DS-263N. Hell, if I want to bring a monitor like DS-263N, it'll be cheaper than what DS-263N costs now.

By now, you guys probably know what I'm talking about. I'm on my first step to start a imported monitor business. It's not easy as I thought but I'm working on it. Beside all the import related matters that matters, the hardest part of all is offering these monitors at cheapest possible price. In order to do so, for now, I need to know how many possible cutomers I'll have. At this point, I can only start it once I have an idea about that. In other words, I gotta play supply/deman game.

If you're interested or have any suggestions, please let me know.

Also, for now, I'll only deal with x-IPS panel monitors.

Well the DS-263N is a 26" IPS panel LCD monitor...has basic, no/low frills features, just a much higher quality than average display (although not the absolute best)...and it goes for ~$700 in the US.

I'd absolutely love to have any of the above, but usually what holds me back is price or lack of features...usually because of price...for example, the DS263N @ $700 is something I might consider if it wasn't so basic.

well say he can buy the lcds cheaper overseas.. but then theres the cost of shipping them here, then the additional cost/markup so he could make a profit from selling them. i cant see how that would be very cheap at all

Yeah, I can't see it either unless it was done in HUGE quantities...but that would involve several hurdles such as major upfront costs and of course the risk of units simply not selling...

Ehhh.. S-PVA panels are worth dealing with too. I love my Dell 2707FPW. I'm curious as to how it compares to the DS 26" though. I have certainly compared this to a 2407 and a 2007fpw.

I agree that its just not feasible unless you're a corporation or major reseller (Samsung, Newegg, Dell, etc). The costs are going to kill any real advantage you have (it's going to be tough trying to trick customs into thinking that the big box with info about a 26"+ monitor is some cheap crap). Sure, there's a few people who would be willing to pony up for a nice display, but they're also typically very picky about any issues (and so you'd have to thoroughly check them out before shipping). Also, I think they'd be more likely to say screw it and just pony up for one of the nicer but quite a bit more expensive displays available here.

Put it this way, if there's a reason that Newegg isn't doing it, then I wouldn't imagine you'd have too much luck with it. I don't mean to be discouraging, as it's great that you'd be willing to look into it, and I think you still should, but you need to really give this some thought before offering to do so. You have good intentions, which is why I'm trying to dissuade you as chances are you'll be the one getting screwed in the end.
