Importing Docs from Office to Pages

So instead of getting Office with my new Mac, I saved some money and for iWork instead but now i'm running into problems with the formatting of my documents that i'm importing from my old PC. Fonts are off and document spacing is all messed up. Is there anyway around this? Can I return iWork and get Office instead? Will the formatting be okay with Office? the reviews for office 08 for the Mac aren't great so if there's a better alternative, i'm all ears.

Generally you can't return software, although it will depend on where you bought it from. Office 2008 will certainly be more compatible with your Office documents than Pages will be, however.
