Importing a 240sx

I have been trying to find a site to import a 240sx (early 90's s13 model) straight from Japan, but to no prevail. My friend wants to order one so it will come with the sr20det and japanese suspension/brakes. He also likes the right-hand drive idea.

I have looked through google, but if anyone else can lead me in the right direction that would be great, mmkay?

Or heck, someone selling an already converted s13 would be cool too.

1. buy used 240sx
2. do engine swap and suspension/brake upgrade yourself
3. profit.

Edit: If you want RHD, get a donor firewall and steering rack. Most everything else you can mod.

ya.... the only s13 worth importing would be the 95-97 type x. getting a s13 is much cheaper and theres no difference(you can just buy jdm parts and hoook them up yourself)

that being said once i get the money(10+ years from now) i plan on importing a 97 240sx type x because that would be the only 240 worth it imho.

Chiboy is in prison? 😀

Look in the japanese car classifieds magazines and you'll see people who'll sell JDM cars. It won't be legal though, unless you go through Motorex for the paperwork, or do it yourself, which will end up costing more.

Register it as a kit car. 🙂 Don't even have to pass smog.

I see you're in California too. 😀 Will the DMV really allow it?

Here's what DMV says...

A "home-made, specially constructed, or kit vehicle" is a vehicle which is built for private use, not for resale, and is not constructed by a licensed manufacturer or manufacturer.

Example: A Volkswagen "Beetle" modified with fenders, engine compartment lid, and the front end, which leaves the vehicle still recognizable as a Volkswagen is not considered a specially constructed vehicle.

I suppose an S15 wouldn't look like anything else on the road... 😕

So those 550 Spyder replicas or any kit car for that matter doesn't need to pass smog? That's cool... 😀

California SUCKS. They only allow 500 new kit car reg's per year, so come Jan 1, it's a mad rush to get to the DMV first to register your kit car.

That's why I'm moving.

why not just buy a S13 240SX that was sold in teh US..and get a front clip from the JDM S13..and use the parts from the front clip in your USDM S13.

Simple.
