First off, what power supply do you have, how many watts, and how many devices do you have attached to your system in total?

Does your system have any other problems other than the system hanging when you try to restart? Is it stable? Have you run any stability or performance tests? Have you tried using different ram slots for the DDR? Are you using the DDR alone or in conjuction with the SDR?

More information please!

Try another PSU.... if that doesnt work lower the memory settings.

Just keep trying different hardware if you can.

also the memory timings are already the slowest they can be set to...

I had a simular problem, except with a cold boot. Installing Win2000 with the ACPI disabled solved the problem.

mine hangs on cold boot. i just go into the bios, load optimized settings, reset the bus to 133, and boot... works fine. kind of annoying, though.

we are looking at less than a week to fix this problem
my question is do you guys think this would be a mobo issue or a ram issue?
i really don't wanna try to replace both... i dont' have time for that...

thanks

i just remembered some important information...
if i set the FSB and Memory to 100MHz the DDR works fine but i get the warm boot problems when i up it to 133MHz
so do you guys think i might have gotten a bad stick of RAM or is it the mobo?

thanks again,
Josh

ooo guys i need some help now... please...
ok here is what happens... when i boot the computer cold... i get 256MB registered by the bios and 256MB registered by memtest-86...
but when i boot warm i get 256MB registered by the bios and 512MB registered by memtest-86...
the computer only has 256MB in it... so i now know why it isn't booting, but i don't know why it is picking up that it is 512MB RAM...
i'm "cross-shipping" an RMA w/ crucial... so we'll see if it is the ram tonight after i pick it up from the FedEx place...
i'm hoping that this will fix the problem if not (maybe if i put both sticks in it will :)) ah a thought anyways...
i'd like some of your input if you would...

thanks
Josh
