found out after upgrading to faster speed motorola surfboard modem that firmware version 1.10 (latest posted at d-link) and some earlier versions cause the router to not recognized dhcp properly and you won't get a connection to the net through Tthis particular dlink router, anyway. there is an unposted bios version 1.1120b that fixes the problem! if anyone ends up wanting it, i can email a copy if you pm me. apparently, 1.04 is the prior known version that works properly in combo with this modem. anything else may work, but expect instability and dropouts if you do connected.
