I actually think using FP HDR is too slow to begin with so it doesn't matter if you can use AA with it or not.
The only viable HDR so far has been through pixel shaders as that runs fast, works with everyone and works with AA too.

If you're referring to Source HDR, it looks like crap.

I agree in a sense. I think the Source HDR looks better than nothing, but the Far Cry HDR (although overdone) looks much better. Colours are just exploding off the screen with FP HDR. Dark areas that looked 'too dark' before looked perfect, and contrast was MUCH better.
Alas, performance was (I'm going to use a technical term here) ass-poo with HDR on in Far Cry, so that's the tradeoff I guess.

how is the HDR in serious sam2 done?
and yeah, of course i'd want HDR and AA, at least the option of it, on all game HDR types...

I quite liked the HDR effect in DOD:S from what I saw, and it still ran well and allowed for the use of AA (both in performance, and actually just letting you use both at the same time).
It's been a long time since I've experimented with HDR in FarCry, but I don't remember being more impressed with it than I was with Source's HDR, and it most certainly was not worth the halving of my framerates and loss of AA to me.

Well then fire up Far Cry and go outdoors and check again. Remember, HDR isn't just bloom effects like many people associate it to be.
