Someone told me that the president is about to sign a bill called CAFTA which is basically the Central America Free Trade Agreement. Supposedly, it does the same thing that NAFTA did, but now it includes all of Central America.

Anyone else hear about this? What are your thoughts on it?

First of all, I know that there is a P&N section. There are a lot more people that read OT though and I feel that this is important enough to share with them. Most people (myself included) don't read P&N due to the large amount of verbiage there.

It's not as big of a deal economically as NAFTA because tariffs between exports between the countries involved and the U.S. were low to begin with.

I'm a firm believer that free trade benefits everyone in the long run, despite having short term consequences for skilled and semi-skilled labor.
