I am not sure how many years old my monitor is, I don't remember when I bought it. It's hard to view some stuff due to how dark it has become, despite the brightness settings being at maximum. When I play some games I have to adjust the gamma a lot to be able to see things very well.
Now I get faint horizontal lines scrolling across it sometimes, and it now makes a high-pitched whining noise when I open a page that has a light colored background. Dark colored pages are fine though.
Should I pitch it before it blows up in my face?
